Populate Elements.
Note: The easiest way to do this is to upload an IFC File of the project to Actually. It is possible to populate the Elements manually without uploading an IFC file by clicking “+ Element” and populating this with Components, although this is not recommended.
If an IFC File hasn’t yet been uploaded, do this now.
Select either “Project Actions” then “Load BIM”, or the “Load BIM” button in the top panel.
Then, select the IFC File for the project from your computer’s folder structure.
Click “Open.”
When the upload is successful Actually shows all Elements and Components detected in the file.
Click “Next,” and any Element or Component that hasn’t been assigned to a Category is listed.
Click “Next,” then “Import” to complete the import.
Click the “Spaces” tab in the sidebar. All the Spaces that have been loaded with the BIM Upload will appear here.
Click the “Categories” tab in the sidebar.
All Elements that have been assigned to the various Categories of the building will appear in the Categories Tab on the Sidebar.
Click on one of the Elements, then click the three dots next to the Element, followed by “Edit.” This shows the Element Geometry has been imported.
Assorted information for the different Element Categories will appear here.
