Room Labels

5.3.1

To clean up the workspace and save time manually entering Room Names into the automatically generated Room Labels, use a parameter to display the Room Classification Name.

Step 1

To do this, select one of the Room Labels (not the room itself) and click “Edit Family” in the top ribbon.

Step 2

Click the “Name” label box which may display “Reception” as an example.

Click the “Label” “Edit” button in the Properties side panel.

Click the “Create New Category” parameter button in this window.

Click “Select” in this window.

Click “Actually Spaces Name” in this window.

Click “Ok”.

Click “Ok”.

Step 3

Select the “Name” parameter from the Label Parameters section of the window and click “Remove parameter from label”.

Step 4

Select the “Actually Spaces Name” parameter from the list of Category Parameters section of this window and click “Add parameter(s) to label”.

Click “Apply”.

Click “Ok”.

Step 5

Click “Load into Project and Close” in the top ribbon.

Save changes if desired.

Click “Overwrite the existing version”.

Note: Room labels can be toggled between options to display a combination of name, number or area from the drop-down box at the top of the Properties Side Panel.
